Ph. D. curriculum in Acoustics

The Acoustics Group of the Physics Department has been co-working since its origin with the Italian National Research Council on the theoretical modeling and application of sound intensimetry to several branches of applied acoustics: from musical and historical heritage acoustics, to audio technology and noise control .

Since 2009 the research activity has been focused in the following main lines:

Acoustic modeling and calibration of pressure-velocity probes for sound intensimetry and hyper-intensimetry
Intensimetric monitoring, experimental analysis and electro-acoustic control of complex sound sources and systems
Development of Sound Mechanics as the unique physical tool for studying the energy motion in stationary sound fields
