National Institute for Nuclear Physics | Ferrara Division

LHCb (Large Hadron Collider beauty) is one of the main experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Its physics program is dedicated to the study of the asymmetry between matter and anti-matter, of rare phenomena with particles made of quarks b and c, and to precise measurements of the Standard Model parameters. The INFN Ferrara group is active in data analysis, computing and development of new detectors for the experiment upgrade, especially working on particle identification through RICH (Ring Imaging CHerenkov) and Muon sub detectors. From 2015 LHCb also makes measurements of proton-nucleon collisions using a fixed target developed by the Ferrara group.
